Accessible by public transport – a short walk from UNSW High St or UNSW Anzac Parade Light Rail station.
Format:
90 minutes + 30 seconds increment from move 1
20-board match between UNSW Team and Non-UNSW Team
Two rounds (players face two different opponents, with board swaps in Round 2)
Schedule:
Opening: 10:00 am
Round 1: 10:30 am
Round 2: 3:00 pm
Closing: 7:30 pm
Entry Fees:
Non-UNSW member: $20
UNSW Arc member: $15
Free for titled players (GM, IM, WGM, FM, WFM)
UNSW Arc members must also be members of the UNSW Chess Club (via SpArc). You may be asked to present your UNSW student ID at the event.
Entry Conditions:
Maximum entries: 40 players (20 UNSW, 20 Non-UNSW)
Overseas entrants must have a FIDE ID or obtain one from their home federation before entering
Parents must ensure children are supervised between rounds
Entries close 13th October 2025 at 11:00 pm

Note: The Central Coast Leagues Club is a licenced venue. Under 18s are not allowed to leave the playing venue unless in the company of a responsible adult. Children should be supervised by an adult. Outside food and drink should not be brought and consumed inside the Club. No food or alcohol to be consumed at the chess tables.
Rated: FIDE Standard and ACF Classical rated.
Time limit: 1 hour with 30 sec increment from move 1

Byes: Two half point byes given only with adequate notice. No half point bye given in Round 6.
Forfeit times: Any player who arrives at the chessboard more than 30 minutes after the start of the session shall lose the game unless the arbiter decides otherwise.

Note: The Open will have prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The FOUR additional rating bands will have 1st and 2nd prizes awarded in each. No tiebreaks: prizes will be shared in the usual way.
A player (except for the NSW Country Champion) may only win one prize. Unrated players cannot win any Rating Band prizes, but are eligible for
the Open, Junior (if under 18) and Unrated prizes.

Adults: $50 Concession $40 Juniors: $35 Gosford Chess Club Members: $10 discount
(Free entry GM’s, WGM’s, IM’s and WIM’s if capacity has not been reached).

from their National Federation and enter it when applying for entry via Trybooking. All foreign players must have a FIDE Id number. Foreign
players without a FIDE id number will not be accepted
All entrants need to be a financial member of NSW Chess Association or join on the day.
